Splatoon Raiders Release Date

No release date has been announced for Splatoon Raiders, although it will likely come out in the latter half of 2025.

Splatoon Raiders may slip to 2026, as no confirmation was given at the time of writing as to when the official release date is for the game. This is considered unlikely due to its somewhat similar appearance to the existing Splatoon 3, suggesting that Splatoon Raiders was made in the same engine.

Splatoon Raiders Platform

Splatoon Raiders is exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2.

Nintendo Switch 1 was left out of the announcement, indicating that future Splatoon titles will only be released on the Switch 2 console.

From Nintendo's official website:

Play as the 'Mechanic' and explore the mysterious Spirhalite Islands alongside Deep Cut in Splatoon Raiders, a new Splatoon spin-off game launching exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2. Stay tuned for more deets in the future!

Splatoon Raiders Screenshots

After the game's announcement, Nintendo posted a few screenshots of the Splatoon Raiders on their website.

You can check them out in the gallery below.

Splatoon Raiders Gameplay

Splatoon Raiders will likely be a single-player game similar to the story modes and DLCs of the first 3 Splatoon games.

The solo modes in the Splatoon trilogy feature platforming, minor puzzle elements, and boss fights. In Splatoon Raiders, the trailer tells us that we will be playing as a mechanic alongside the Deep Cut crew from Splatoon 3.

The game may also include vehicles that the player can use, such as the tank/submarine-esque one seen in the screenshots above, and the profession of the player character is a mechanic.

Who Are Deep Cut In Splatoon?

Deep Cut is a band in Splatoon 3. It is a trio composed of Shiver, Frye, and Big Man. They play a similar role to the Squid Sisters and Off the Hook in the previous 2 Splatoon titles.

They also host and perform in Splatfests, with each representing one of the three teams in every Splatfest. They also appear in the single-player mode Return of the Mammalians, serving as antagonists during most of the story.

Is Splatoon Raiders Splatoon 4?

While Splatoon Raiders is the fourth game in the franchise, it has been described as a spin-off title rather than a full-fledged main entry.

Splatoon 4 will likely be released for the Nintendo Switch 2, albeit later in the console's lifecycle.
