It took a while, but Pokemon Legends: Z-A finally has a release date. Many fans were wondering when The Pokemon Company would finally move on from the “late 2025” release window, and it’s finally here. Unlike GTA 6, this game will actually meet its 2025 window, for better or worse.

As many expected, Legends: Z-A is going to be a dual release. The game will simultaneously come out for both Switch and Switch 2, so no player gets left behind. Fans who buy the last-gen version can also get a paid upgrade to get the benefits of this improved Switch 2 version.

When does Pokemon Legends: Z-A come out?

Fans will be able to pick up Pokemon Legends: Z-A on October 16 for the Switch and Switch 2.

The Switch 2 version will have plenty of improvements, including 60 FPS and 4K resolution. It won’t look that different from the regular Switch version, but fans won’t mind since they can get some improvements. Hopefully, this will lead to better-looking games in from this franchise in the future.

In addition to Pokemon Legends: Z-A getting a paid upgrade, Scarlet and Violet will also be getting a free upgrade on Switch 2. Based on the wording, the improvements are just a resolution bump and a steady framerate, but that’s what fans want. If you already don’t like these games on Switch, we don’t think you’ll like it on Switch 2.
