Marvel Comics has just revealed the return of their Marvel Swimsuit Special after 30 years, and it’s been confirmed that the special also has swimsuit skins for Marvel Rivals heroes. What’s interesting is that people are starting to speculate that the special could also include teasers for upcoming playable heroes.
Just looking at the promo images, several Marvel characters not in Rivals have also been spotted, and some are hoping this means they’re going to be coming soon.
Marvel Swimsuit Special
The Marvel Swimsuit Special comic is set to release on July 9, and it features art of several Marvel icons in their swimwear. Check this out:
The cover art from Adam Hughes features not only heroes that are already in the game, but characters like She-Hulk, Wasp, and Captain Marvel as well.
Here are also some alternate promo images that feature heroes like Jean Grey, Cyclops, Rogue, and MJ Watson:
Who has been Leaked Before?
Some of the characters that are featured have been leaked before including the likes of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Rogue, and Captain Marvel. Other heroes listed have not been spotted by data miners but have been highly requested by fans like She-Hulk.
I’ve yet to spot anyone asking for Wasp to be playable, but she would make a great addition, especially with her use of flight and shrinking powers. Maybe they can even do another Cloak & Dagger and make her a pair with Ant-Man; they can do double trouble as Ant-Man and the Wasp, and have an ultimate where Giant-Man can stomp around the map for a few seconds.
click to enlargeGoing back to previous leaks though, data miners have found files for Professor X, Beast, Gambit, Nightcrawler, Jubilee, Deadpool, Trapster/Paste Pot Pete, MODOK, Colossus, Angela (Thor’s Sister), and Hit-Monkey—just to name a few. Other leaked characters have already been confirmed for the game including Emma Frost, Ultron, and sooner or later, Blade.
We don’t know who NetEase plans to release after Ultron, but we should expect six more heroes to drop within the year. What are the chances that a couple of them haven’t been leaked yet?
