Legendary Hideki Kamiya wants to bring back Dino Crisis. The Capcom cult classic was originally released in 1999 under the direction of another iconic developer, Shinji Mikami. Unlike the Resident Evil series, the horror franchise also created by Mikami, Dino Crisis has seen but a fraction of that game's popularity.

In an interview with Ben Hanson from MinnMax, Kamiya, currently working on an Okami sequel for Capcom as the lead of the independent studio Clovers, expressed interest in bringing Dino Crisis. "I'd love to give it a shot," he stated after being asked if he'd like to take the director's chair in a new Dino Crisis project.

It's no secret that Dino Crisis has a very loyal fanbase that could potentially respond if Capcom ever decides to bring back the game in any way, whether that's via a remake of the old titles or a brand-new entry in the series. In fact, for years, many people have wondered why the company has not paid enough attention to the Dino Crisis IP, one of the many Capcom franchises that are due for a comeback.

Dino Crisis under Kamiya? Yes please

Recently, a fan-made project created an Unreal Engine 4 remake of the original Dino Crisis. Earlier in the year, Capcom filed a new Dino Crisis trademark in Japan, giving fans hope that something might be down the line.

Is Kamiya Working On Viewtiful Joe 3?

Another great pearl Hideki Kamiya dropped is that he has a plan for a potential Viewtiful Joe third (mainline) entry. Joe's return sits at the top of his list among the projects he'd be interested in tackling after the upcoming Okami sequel. "I've got the idea in my head. So you'll find out if I ever get to make it."

Kamiya's influence on the gaming industry cannot be understated. With titles like BayonettaDevil May CryResident Evil 2, and, of course, both Viewtiful Joe and Okami as his legacy, fans will definitely be excited to see what his next projects look like.

Even if he is currently working as an independent developer (Clovers is not a Capcom subsidiary), who's to say he won't be able to partner with his former employee for more dream projects?
