A new Assassin's Creed Board Game has officially been announced by Ubisoft and Mantic Games, who are planning to launch a Kickstarter to raise funds for its launch.

Named 'Assassin's Creed: Animus', it's described as a thrilling and competitive board game that spans multiple historical eras from fan-favourite Assassin's Creed games.

The Kickstarter pre-launch campaign is already live right here, with Mantic Games founder and CEO Ronnie Renton expressing his delight at the news: "We're thrilled to be partnering with Ubisoft to create the Assassin's Creed board game", Renton said.

"Fans can expect a deep respect for the franchise's lore and history, exciting asymmetric characters, and tough gameplay choices between pursuing your own objectives while needing to maintain their edge over other players."

Additional information is limited right now, with both Ubisoft and Mantic Games focusing on the Kickstarter campaign. However, some initial key art for the board game suggests fan-favourite Ezio will be making his return, alongside Connor from the original trilogy and Valhalla's Eivor.

It's not unusual for board games, especially ones like this that cover multiple eras or titles, to come with expansions. So, we may even get assassins from other games like the most recent entry, Assassin's Creed: Shadows, or the beloved Black Flag.

While more details on Assassin's Creed: Animus are expected to be shared later this year, Mantic Games has confirmed that it is aware of how the unfolding tariffs situation is currently affecting the tabletop community, stating that scenario planning is in place to ensure US fans can back the project with confidence.
