Listen, it's no secret that Marvel Rivals is filled with conventionally attractive characters. So obviously players would start pairing up heroes for fanart online. We know that there are canon couples like Sue Storm and Reed Richards, but one ship that is gaining some traction online is one between Bruce Banner/Hulk and Emma Frost.

Dubbed as #EmmaBruce, several pieces of Marvel Rivals fanart have come out online of the odd couple and they’ve been getting thousands of likes and retweets.
#EmmaBruce
It’s not clear who exactly started this ship, but a lot seem to love the dynamic of a dominatrix femme fatale being in a relationship with her nerdy short king. There’s a thread that fans have made up where Bruce introduces Emma to Dungeons and Dragons and she ends up having some fun making a character exactly like her.
Besides the clashing personalities, it does seem like fans also like how their powers seem to match each other. With Emma’s telepathic abilities, she can help keep Bruce calm, and Bruce doesn’t have to be afraid of hurting Emma since she’s tough as diamond.
Dating History
If anything, both Emma Frost and Bruce Banner have had colorful dating lives in the comics; but not with each other. Bruce famously has his girlfriend Betty Ross, and the movies tried to pair him up with Black Widow—She-Hulk: Attorney at Law even revealed that he had a son—but the identity of the mother is still a mystery.
Emma Frost has been known to dabble with X-Men’s Cyclops, and for a while she also married Tony Stark/Iron Man in the comics—a pairing that a lot of fans also thought made sense personality-wise. They still split up shortly after though.
Could it Happen?
For now, it seems that the whole #EmmaBruce thing is only prevalent with the fandom, but maybe with enough buzz Marvel Rivals can make it a thing. After all, this is a multiverse story, and there really isn’t any incentive to stick to a solid canon.
I’m just curious what’s going to happen once Cyclops and Jean Grey come to the game because fans are sure to want some tension in those interactions. Even NetEase delivered with how Namor talks to Sue and Reed.
Marvel Rivals is now playable for Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC.
