James Bond is making a gaming comeback with 007 First Light. IO Interactive finally gave fans a bit more information to chew on after years of speculation, which are now expecting a full reveal at Summer Game Fast on June 6.
The reveal will have fans excited to see what IO can do with an IP as popular as 007. Bond has had some ups and big downs in the realm of gaming, which is why fans are hoping IO does right by the iconic British spy bringing the experience they've accumulated with their highly successful Hitman franchise.
007 First Light was originally announced in November 2020. While gameplay details are still kept under wraps, we know that the game will feature a brand-new original story crafted by IO Interactive. It'll be an origin story, where players will need to earn their 00 agent status.
In the world of James Bond, being a 00 agent means you have a license to kill. These agents are usually deployed by MI6 to tackle extremely perilous assignments, with no expectancy that they even return from their missions. This is mere speculation but the game could likely focus on challenging the players with completing objectives using non-lethal force.

Yes, the game has been confirmed for the Nintendo Switch 2. It was confirmed during the Nintendo Switch 2 direct.
As mentioned, we'll likely see more of 007 First Light at SFG. On top of being confirmed for Switch 2 it's expected that other platforms (PS5, Xbox Series, and PC) join in the coming days.
