How to Get Gargwa Eggs in Monster Hunter Rise
To get Gargwa Eggs in Monster Hunter RIse, you have to surprise the Gargwa monsters, stocky creatures in the Shrine Ruins who look like a mix of ostrich and dinosaur. However, you can’t get Gargwa Eggs by killing them.
Instead, you have to surprise them. Sneak up on them from behind without them noticing, then launch any minor attack. Damage is irrelevant, what matters is startling them into a panic. You can do this as much as you like, and while it’s not completely guaranteed to cause them to drop an egg, the odds of it working are very high, if done correctly.
Gargwa Location
Now you know what you need to do, you need to find Gargwa. Generally they spawn down the left side of the Shrine Ruins, in the watery areas from Sections 2, 6 and 13. The little island between 6 and 13, halfway down the river, is especially good.
How to Transport Gargwa Eggs Safely
Now the egg has been dropped, you need to deliver it back to camp. However, rather than being a standard item that disappears into your bag, the Gargwa Egg is something your character physically holds in both hands in front of them. Consequently you need to move it without damaging it, which isn’t easy because… well, it’s an egg. If it’s attacked or falls, it’ll smash, and you’ll have to get another one. Here’s some key tips on how to deliver Gargwa Eggs safely.
- You can run while holding an egg.
- Don’t Press Y, or you’ll drop the egg.
- Taking any damage will destroy the egg.
- If you run out of stamina, you’ll also drop it. Keep an eye on that stamina bar!
- The wirebug can be used while holding the egg, which is very important if you want to get down the waterfall between Sections 2 and 6.
- Falling too far will break the egg. Use the wirebug just before you hit the ground to reset your fall and prevent this.
Gargwa Egg Uses
You can’t sell or use the Gargwa Egg for crafting, but bringing it back to your camp will net you 200 Kamura Points. You can also collect them for a quest called An Egg-cellent Idea, which will get you the bizarre (and not very good) Egg Hammer.
