Marvel Rivals is never beating the horny allegations, and it looks like the developers over at NetEase are just going to ‘embrace the cake’
The patch for Season 2 just went live, and though it features all the new buffs and nerfs that the devs promised, some fans noticed something different around the male butt department.
I Like Big Butts and I Cannot Lie
As posted by u/Weak-Bodybuilder-419 on Reddit, several male characters seem to have been given a major buttlift, making their asses more round and shapely. Compared to their old character models, Moon Knight, Winter Soldier, Wolverine, and more now have significantly rounder butts. Check out the comparison:
Admittedly, the only character that had been commended for their butt till this point was Venom—hence the twerk emote—but with so many of the female characters getting sexualized, there have been calls for the men to get the same treatment as well; and by the looks of it, NetEase has definitely listened.
Even before the butts were officially edited in the game, Marvel Rivals fans have been toying with characters proportions in the game even before it launched back in January. One of the more infamous edits that was going around online was one of Black Panther being absolutely caked up:
Apparently it was so convincing that a lot of players thought it was a legitimate screenshot. X had to release a community note about it.
If anything, this was one of the tamer edits from the fanbase. It's not too hard to find smut based on Marvel Rivals online; in fact, some people even think that the fan-made erotica is what's going to help the game last longer in the public consciousness.
Not Just the Men
click to enlargeThough the man butts are what’s turning heads for now, some noticed that there are also female characters that have been upped on the sexuality. Another user had spotted that the butts for Magik and Psylocke have been made significantly larger with the patch:
So far, it doesn’t look like there are any major complaints. As long as every character is being sexualized in the same way, Marvel Rivals is going to be cancel-proof from the feminist crowd.
