It’s been a day since the Nintendo Switch 2 launched worldwide, and players are still experimenting with what the system can really do. Thanks to Backwards Compatibility, the hunt for original Nintendo Switch titles that can hit 60fps on the new hardware is at an all-time high, with fans downloading older games just to test them out.

So far, here are the Nintendo Switch 2 games confirmed to be running at 60fps or more:

Bayonetta 3

The third (and possibly final) Bayonetta game now runs at 60fps on Nintendo Switch 2. Previously locked to a measly 30fps, with frequent dips during massive boss battles, it’s now a smooth and stylish experience. Bayonetta can finally strut her stuff and unleash Umbra Witch magic without stutters or that dreaded 30fps ceiling. The same goes for Viola’s levels, too!

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild & Tears of the Kingdom

Both open-world Zelda titles run flawlessly on the Nintendo Switch 2; granted you’re using the upgraded Switch 2 edition. These enhanced versions offer a steady 60fps, faster loading times, and improved visual fidelity compared to the originals. Traversing Korok Forest has never felt this smooth.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet

For the first time ever, Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, infamous for their poor performance on the original Switch, now run at 60fps on the Nintendo Switch 2. Even the notorious Artazon windmill has been fixed. Several in-game moments that felt frustrating due to low frame rates are now more manageable.

Fortnite

Fortnite has also received a performance boost on Nintendo Switch 2, now running at 60fps with no extra cost to players. It’s finally playable, compared to the choppy 30fps (or worse) experience on the original Switch. Epic Games has clearly worked hard to optimize the game, making the Switch 2 a solid pick for handheld Fortnite fans.

Mario Kart World

Naturally, Nintendo’s latest Mario Kart title runs beautifully on the new hardware. Mario Kart World hits 60fps in 4K and even goes up to 120fps on supported TVs. The only exception is split-screen multiplayer, which drops the frame rate to 30fps, but that’s expected.

Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition

Who would’ve thought a Hyrule Warriors game could finally break the 30fps barrier? The Definitive Edition, a musou-style Zelda game set before Tears of the Kingdom, is now fully playable on the Switch 2. Even in the midst of enemy swarms, performance holds strong, letting you pull off wild combos without dropped frames.

Pokemon Legends Z-A

Game Freak’s upcoming Pokemon title isn’t out until October 16, but it’s already confirmed to launch at a smooth 60fps, an impressive feat for a Pokemon game. Exploring the new Lumiose City should be a far more polished experience.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land

Kirby’s dystopian adventure is getting a big upgrade on Nintendo Switch 2. The enhanced version launches August 28 and will run at 60fps, letting our favorite pink blob devour enemies and items without performance hiccups.

Super Mario Odyssey

This fan-favorite Mario adventure is receiving a free upgrade for the Switch 2. The new version features improved textures and better anti-aliasing, fixing some of the visual quirks from the original. Bowser’s Fury, the major expansion, has also seen big improvements, especially in load times.

We close this list with Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom. While it previously hovered around 60fps, the performance was inconsistent. On the Switch 2, the game runs noticeably better, though it’s still not a fully locked 60fps experience. Occasional stutters remain, but it’s far more playable than on the original console.

And that’s about it. These are the Nintendo Switch 1 games currently confirmed to run at 60fps or more on the Nintendo Switch 2. We’ll continue updating this list as we (and other players around the world) test more titles.
