The Cacao seed is now known as one of the rarest and most valuable items in Grow a Garden. In this guide, we'll tell you how to find it.

This Divine-tier seed made its debut during May 2025’s Lunar Glow event and became known for being hard to obtain and very rewarding.

Even after the event ended, the seed remained part of the game’s system, though acquiring it is still no easy feat.

Where and How to Find the Cacao Seed

There are two main ways to get the Cacao seed: through Sam’s Seed Stall and from seasonal events.

The most straightforward (but also the most luck-dependent) method is checking Sam’s stall. You’ll find it under the blue and white striped canopy, and you can teleport there instantly by tapping the “Seeds” button at the top of your screen.

The shop refreshes every 5 minutes, which gives you 288 chances per day to see if the seed appears. The catch is that Cacao is a Divine seed, which means it appears very rarely. Some players have only spotted it two or three times a day, even with constant checking. When it does appear, it costs a hefty 2.5 million Sheckles.

If you don’t want to wait or grind for cash, there’s also the option to purchase it using 679 Robux, though that involves spending real money. After its initial release, Cacao was also made available in the Summer Harvest Event, which started with the June 21 update.

Players who rack up more than 11,000 event points get a chance to unlock the Divine-tier reward, which includes the Cacao seed. It’s not a sure thing, but this approach offers a backup instead of relying entirely on shop RNG.

What Happens After You Plant It?

When the seed is yours, the true test is growing it into a multi-harvest cacao tree, which only needs to be planted once.

It’ll keep producing fruit as long as you water it and maintain it in your garden. Don’t count on quick results since players often say this crop takes way longer to grow than most others in the game.

It’s common to see it sitting idle for a while before reaching maturity. To move faster, use watering cans or upgrade to top-tier tools like godly sprinklers—especially when planting many at once.

Is the Cacao Fruit Worth It?

Yes—absolutely, especially if you're thinking long-term.

The fruit it produces can sell for a huge amount of Sheckles, with some high-quality variants going for as much as 21,000 per fruit. That’s significantly higher than many other crops, including peppers, which typically sell for around 7,000.

Earlier versions of the game had mixed opinions about Cacao’s profitability, but following recent balance patches, its value has been adjusted to reflect its Divine status.

In many ways, it now competes with premium crops like Candy Blossom, making it one of the smartest investments for mid to late-game players.
