Gene Park on X posted a clip of Hyrule Warriors: Definitive Edition running at 60 FPS on the Switch 2. According to the gaming journalist, this was done without a major patch announced by the company. Simply put the game cartridge in and play it to hack foes at 60 FPS.
Park has also confirmed that Bayonetta 3 now runs at a smooth 60 FPS as well. While the game was always pretty playable on the original Switch, having smoother frames for this action title will make it even better. Although an improved framerate isn’t needed for every game, it does help for action-oriented experiences like this.
Does Every Switch 1 Game Run Better on Switch 2?
We don’t know yet, at the time of writing. The Switch 2 just came out, and fans are still testing their favorite games. However, it does look like a lot of first-party Switch games will run better without needing a big patch.
It’s good to know that various Switch 1 games are going to run incredibly well on the Switch 2 at launch. Players will need to update the Switch 2 to make sure it runs other games, but that’s not a problem these days. You can always go offline after downloading updates.
