The Switch 2 is going to be Nintendo’s strongest console so far, with plenty of powerful games like Final Fantasy VII Remake coming to it. With the new console coming out really soon, fans are curious about features that haven’t been announced yet. So far, we know about GameShare, mouse controls, and backwards compatibility, amongst other things.

Interestingly, some dataminers confirmed another feature: custom music for the Switch 2. Although Nintendo hasn’t revealed the feature yet, these fans were able to find it most unconventionally.

How Was Switch 2 Custom Music Uncovered?

WWE 2K25 dataminers on ResetEra found an option for Switch 2 custom music while trying to find more information for the wrestling sim.

Fans of the WWE 2K series are fairly active in data mining, as they try to discover what will be added in future updates. Some players were able to use data mining to make more interesting created wrestlers. Others were able to uncover new versions of existing superstars and unique DLC moves.

2K Games had confirmed that the WWE 2K series was coming to Switch 2, though they didn’t say which game. Based on the data mining, it seems that WWE 2K25 is going to be the game coming to Nintendo's new console, possibly as some type of ultimate edition.

How Will Custom Music Be Used For Switch 2?

The datamine suggests that fans with music on their Switch 2 will be able to play these tracks in WWE 2K25.

Because of this, we can assume that other games will let players install custom music. Sports games like WWE 2K would use this feature well, especially for those who don’t like the OST. Games like Mario Kart World may also have use for this custom music feature, since that game also has plenty of tunes to listen to.

It would be amazing if more music-based games made use of custom music, but that’s more hopeful thinking than anything else. At the least, this feature will let players do something on Switch 2 that can’t be done on other systems. Because this is Nintendo, expect them to make players use their music app, unless they’re kind enough to let Spotify be an option.
