Street Fighter 6 Fighter Pass 3 was announced in a unique way during the Summer Game Fest. AEW International Champion Kenny Omega suddenly turned into the four characters coming to the fighter later this year and in 2026. While Omega’s antics were fun, that didn’t distract from the fact that Capcom’s most controversial character is returning in this DLC pack.
Fans were more than happy seeing Alex from Street Fighter 3 return, joining Elena from that particular entry. C. Viper’s return was also welcome, since the Street Fighter 4 original hasn’t been seen since Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, aside from some Story Mode art in Street Fighter 5. Sagat was also welcome, though it seems that the Street Fighter anti-hero will be a DLC character from here on out, this being his second downloadable appearance.
It’s Ingrid who has Street Fighter 6 fans confused. Without question, she has to be the most controversial fighting game character Capcom has created, and Nekali exists.
Why Is Ingrid Controversial?
Ingrid was introduced in the poorly-received Capcom Fighting Evolution as the game’s only original character. Her non-canon appearance in Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX as some kind of goddess also ruffled some feathers, easily handling M. Bison and then curing Ryu’s Satsui no Hado curse.
Needless to say, her re-emergence in Street Fighter 6 is interesting, to say the least. Based on fan requests, Ingrid wasn’t on anyone’s list to appear and is now taking up a spot that could have gone to Makoto or Sakura. She will probably play well, because the game has been consistently balanced, but expect fans to be annoyed with her presence.
When Do the Street Fighter 6 Fighter Pass 3 Characters Release?
Sagat and C. Viper will be coming out in Summer and Fall 2025, respectively. Alex is next in Early Spring 2026, while Ingrid closes the season out in Late Spring 2026.
Yes, Ingrid is the last character in this DLC pack for Street Fighter 6. Make of that what you will.
It is interesting seeing Capcom take the good and bad parts of its history, while putting them in the game. Elena’s “healing” was already controversial way back in Street Fighter 4, so making that a post-trailer tease was amazing. No one thought Capcom Fighting Evolution appearing in Fighting Game Collection 2 would lead to Ingrid's return, yet here we are.
