Oblivion Remastered might be out and about, but the Skyrim modding community is still fairly active. Various Bethesda creators are still adding content to a game that was packed to the brim with quests and stories. Pillage & Plunder is another mod that’s going to add more, giving players a challenge that forces them to craft and outsmart enemies like never before.
Developed by modder Harra, Pillage & Plunder has players start with nothing and slowly gain more items that will help them get through three difficult dungeons. As players explore these dungeons, they will find items to craft into weapons that will help them through this journey. It feels like a brand-new roguelite mission for fans of The Elder Scrolls.
Because this is a Skyrim mod, there are some quirks players have to do if they want to make this quest work. When going through the quest, players have to rest for 48 in-game hours in Solitude or a similar location so that the dungeons can reset. Saving and loading can also make enemies disappear, so reload the save again when starting the game.
Since this is a quest mod that emphasizes difficulty, players cannot bring their followers with them. It’s also recommended that players bring up their character to at least level 8 so that they can get through these dungeons. With unique bosses that have to be beaten, players will need all of their smarts in order to get through this.
Currently, fans can download the Pillage & Plunder Skyrim mod on PC and Xbox. Due to some restrictions, PlayStation fans cannot experience this mod, at least not yet. Maybe it’s the major partnership between Bethesda and Xbox, but fans on PS5 or Nintendo Switch will be missing out on this mod.
It’s fascinating to see support for Skyrim mods continue after the release of Oblivion Remastered. We’re still getting the massive Skyblivion mod coming to the game, which promises to be its own remastered Oblivion game, just with Skyrim. This is definitely a game people can play forever.
