There are rumblings that a Silent Hill 2 Remake DLC is expected to be announced this week, according to known gaming insider Dusk Golem, aka @AestheticGamer1. Earlier today, Dusk Golem shared on X (formerly Twitter) that there’s a “very HIGH chance” a DLC titled Born From a Wish is just around the corner.
Many players speculate that the announcement could happen this week, potentially at Summer Game Fest 2025, or even during PlayStation’s June State of Play later today.
Much like Konami's original Silent Hill 2in 2001, a special downloadable story called Born From a Wish was released months after the main game. To this day, every classic Silent Hill 2 extended edition includes Born From a Wish as part of its package.
It seems Bloober Team and Konami are taking a similar approach by adding Maria’s extra story to James Sunderland’s twisted reimagining in this modern Silent Hill 2 title.
Dusk Golem also mentioned that Bloober Team had worked on this DLC before the remake’s official release. It might have initially been planned as a lengthy playable demo, but it was reportedly pushed back until after launch. Now, Born From a Wish is finally on its way.
Silent Hill 2 fans are already familiar with this extended story beat, focusing solely on Maria, James’ disturbing manifestation of his late wife, Mary. In the DLC, players will control Maria as she solves puzzles and flees from the horrors lurking in the fog-drenched town.
However, with the remake adding new elements even to the core narrative, there’s a chance we’ll see something entirely new, possibly even more intense and terrifying encounters with the creatures that haunt this twisted world.
