Monster Hunter Wilds has gone through a minor content drought after two months with no new monsters. The lack of content has led to some players taking a long break while they wait for the next major update.
Thankfully, Capcom has finally broken the silence: the highly anticipated Title Update 2, featuring the iconic leviathan Lagiacrus, is officially arriving this month.
The announcement comes after a growing wave of player frustration on social media. What finally pushed Capcom to speak up was an infographic shared by Monster Hunter content creator Shincry. In it, they compared the post-launch update schedules of Monster Hunter World, Rise, and Wilds — highlighting just how sparse Wilds’ content drops have been in comparison. While World and Rise kept had frequent updates, Wilds has fallen noticeably behind.
After Shincry’s infographic made the rounds in the community, Capcom responded swiftly, assuring fans that Lagiacrus will be arriving 'at the end of this month'; not the next, as some had feared.
What’s in Monster Hunter Wilds’ Title Update 2?
The crown jewel of this update is undoubtedly Lagiacrus, a long-requested, fan-favorite leviathan that many have been begging to return to modern Monster Hunter titles.
But that's not all, players will also gain access to new customization features. Most notably, layered weapons, which were oddly absent at launch, are making their return. This means players can now craft Artian weapons to their optimal stats without sacrificing visual flair. Fashion hunters, rejoice.
Are There More Monsters Besides Lagiacrus?
That’s the question on everyone’s mind. Rumors have swirled that both Zinogre and Seregios were present in early development files but were cut before launch, and neither has appeared since.
If Capcom has something up its sleeve, we may be getting more than just Lagiacrus. If not, fans might once again voice frustration over what they see as a lack of content.
Is Lagiacrus a Tough Fight?
We still don’t know if Lagiacrus will come with siege-style mechanics like Alatreon, Zorah Magdaros or Kulve Taroth, but given its status as a fan-favorite, it's safe to assume there will be some unique mechanics involved, especially to challenge solo players.
If it turns out to be another Jin Dahaad situation (just a standard slugfest until its HP hits zero) it may feel underwhelming. There’s hope that Capcom will introduce new Artian armor pieces or some other meaningful reward to make the fight stand out.
