Ghost of Yotei might continue the trend of tired sequels on the PS5, but recent gameplay showcases have impressed fans. With unique cinematic modes that include an OST from Shinichiro Watanabe to not having a traditional map for exploration, this sequel continues to win fans over. That trend might continue, as a recent interview has confirmed that this open-world title won’t take too long to beat.

Jason Connell, the game’s creative director, spoke with Games Radar about the sequel and was eventually asked about its length. Connell confirmed that Yotei would have “similar numbers” when it comes to the game’s scope and scale. This means it should be around the same length as Ghost of Tsushima in terms of story content.

Fans who only went through Tsushima’s story beat it at around 25 or so hours. Ghost of Yotei should be at a similar length, maybe a bit longer, at around 30 hours. Fans who want extra content can always do all of the open-world quests, lasting around 60-70 hours, which is a solid amount for hardcore players.

There might be some fans who think this is too short, but everyone else will be happy that Yotei won’t take a long time to beat. Granted, 25 hours is a lot to some people, but that’s standard gaming time for most fans. Players can always go back to it if they enjoyed the overall experience, but everyone else can say they beat it after going through the main story.

We’re interested in seeing how beatable the story is, considering Ghost of Yotei won’t have a map filled with markers. Tsushima did have an interesting navigation system where the wind could tell players where to go, so that trend can follow here. It was one of the best aspects of Tsushima, and we’re sure that feature will be even better in Yotei.
