Xbox may have conceded when it comes to the "Console Wars", but that doesn’t mean Microsoft can’t showcase any great games that are coming from their developers. Which is why fans are excited for an upcoming Xbox Games Showcase this June.

Fans have been speculating as to what games could be announced. While there are some original games that can be expected, there are some popular IP that fans think are due for a sequel.

Most Wanted Titles for Xbox Games Showcase 2025

For context, here’s the official announcement of the incoming showcase which takes place on June 8:

Besides the official showcase, Microsoft has also announced that there will be a main showcase for the highly-anticipated The Outer Worlds 2 from Fallout: New Vegas developers Obsidian. Not much is known about the sequel yet, but the devs did tease, “You ain’t seen nothin’ yet.”

Probably one of the biggest studios that Xbox has acquired is Bethesda, and a lot of fans have been hoping for follow-ups to popular Bethesda titles. Elder Scrolls VI has been officially announced, but it’s been a while since fans have gotten any significant update; so they hope that there could be some showcase of footage finally in June since the game is expected to release beyond 2026.

The next entry in the Fable franchise was expected to come out later this year. Even with the delay to 2026, we might see what Playground Gamdes are cooking.

There have also been calls to bring back classic Xbox exclusive titles like Gears of War and some are also hoping that they get an official announcement for Atlus’ Persona 6. That's looking unlikely considering the leaks suggest it's Persona 4 Remake the one that will make an appearance at the showcase.

Some are also hoping that there are announcements for games that will be available on Xbox, but are not necessarily exclusives—like Grand Theft Auto VI. With a lot of developers also anticipating the huge launch of GTA, it would make sense for the game to have a presence at the Xbox showcase if they’re going to be releasing it anytime soon.

As mentioned, the biggest rumors involved Persona. One suggests that Atlus is going to announce a remake of Persona 4 and that it’s going to release on Xbox Game Pass Day-One.

And while everyone is hoping for an update on Elder Scrolls VI, there is a rumor going around that there is a secret remake of Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion in the works, and what’s more, there is a plan to ‘shadow drop’ the game (as in they just release it with no marketing or announcement).

Though it does seem to good to be true for an Oblivion remake to just come out of nowhere, some think that it would make sense for Elder Scrolls fans while they keep waiting for the next mainline entry in the ES franchise.

We don’t know exactly what to expect yet, but fans are excited for the Xbox Game Showcase which is set to take place on June 8.
