If you’ve received emails and read reports claiming to offer a free beta test for The Witcher 4 from CD Projekt Red—don’t fall for it. It’s a scam. CD Projekt Red recently took to social media to confirm that no beta tests for The Witcher 4 are currently happening, and any such messages are entirely fake.

The studio added that they’re taking "necessary steps" to shut down these scammers and false reports. They even threw in a cheeky reminder: “Professional monster slayers don’t fall for scams; they see right through them—and slay them.”

CD Projekt Red emphasized that any official news or updates about beta testing in the future will come directly from them, through their verified social media channels or websites.

As much as fans are eager, The Witcher 4 isn’t expected to launch until 2027. The wait is long, but anticipation is already building, especially since the next chapter is set to focus on a now-adult Cirilla Fiona Elen Riannon—Geralt and Yennefer’s adopted daughter. While there’s no official word yet on whether Geralt or Yennefer will return, the cinematic teaser shown at last year’s Game Awards centered on Ciri and confirmed that the silver-haired Witcheress will be the main playable character.

Fans are already speculating where the story might go next, especially since The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt ended with multiple outcomes based on player choice. Based on the teaser, it’s assumed that the canon path will follow the ending where Ciri survives both the Wild Hunt and the White Frost.

For now, fans will have to be patient—and keep an eye on CD Projekt Red’s official channels for real updates. In the meantime, beware of fake emails offering early access. The path of the Witcher doesn’t start in your inbox.
