Today, Ubisoft is rolling out Patch 1.0.2 for Assassin’s Creed Shadows, addressing some of the game’s most glaring issues related to performance and quality of life. Among the most welcome changes is the return of a fan-favorite feature: Horses can now auto-follow roads again. The patch also introduces the long-requested ability to sell items in bulk.
Since launch, players have been asking for the option to have their horse automatically follow roads, a staple feature in modern Assassin’s Creed titles since Origins. With Pathfinder enabled, many were frustrated by the need to manually navigate instead of letting the game guide them. The auto-follow function was a small but crucial quality-of-life feature that made exploration more fluid, allowing the AI to take you to your destination while you focused on the journey.
With today’s patch, Ubisoft is restoring this missing feature, making exploring Feudal Japan as Naoe and Yasuke much more enjoyable.
But that’s not all. The patch also brings a much-needed upgrade to item management. Players can now tag multiple items for selling or dismantling, eliminating the need to do it individually. This change cuts down on tedious inventory micromanagement and improves overall flow.
Performing these actions in the hideout is now noticeably smoother, as the frame rate has been uncapped. You are no longer locked to 30 FPS whenever you visit and take care of your pets.
Another notable addition is the ability to reset individual Mastery Nodes, which gives players more flexibility to tweak their stealth and combat builds without having to start from scratch. This small change saves a lot of time and encourages experimentation.
These are just some of the highlights from Patch 1.0.2 for Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Other notable improvements include a new shortcut to access the Investigation Board instantly—hold the Options button for a few seconds to bypass the sluggish menu navigation.
The patch also includes a variety of bug fixes, such as quest markers not appearing, unresponsive bosses, and enemy AI glitches. Stealth and combat have been rebalanced as well. Naoe’s moves, especially her double assassinations, feel more responsive, while Yasuke remains as powerful as ever.
