This season, a handful of Marvel Rivals heroes are persistently struggling to meet the mark. Each languishing with win rates below the competitive average.
In this guide, I’ve scoured community forums and dev commentary to unpack the root causes, echo player frustrations, and offer my own spin on navigating or avoiding these worst heroes in Marvel Rivals until buffs arrive.
Please note that the list, however, reflects the official Marvel Rivals win rate stats and not that I deem them the worst in the game.
Most Underperforming Heroes in Marvel Rivals Season 2
According to the Marvel Rivals community, these are the worst performing heroes of season 2.
Human Torch (Win Rate: 47.18%)
Human Torch’s shots feel sluggish, and you basically have to stand still to use his signature combo. It leaves you open to every flanker in the match. Unless in combo with Storm, his tornado ultimate is too easy to sidestep. Invisible Woman and Cloak & Dagger totally laugh at it. His movement feels lackluster. He’s just too slow to compete with other duelists.
Human Torch is niche and fine if mastered. But most agree he will sabotage your ranked games if you pull him out of the hero pool. Unless you want to climb a huge learning curve, don’t bother. Pairing him with a zoning support like Mantis helps, maybe. But honestly, Iron Man gives you steadier DPS.
Moon Knight (Win Rate: 45.58%)
It’s surprising to see Moon Knight here, even though he has a remarkably high pick rate. He sure is cool, but not if you are new to the game.
Moon Knight’s kit has long cooldowns, and his abilities are all close-range, leaving him vulnerable at mid and long distances. This dive-centric meta in Marvel Rivals Season 2 tears him apart before he can really make a great play.
Despite being able to one-shot opponents, Moon Knight needs perfect coordination. And in Solo queue, that’s hard to get. Once his initial burst is gone, he has nothing left to keep fights going.
He can surprise unprepared teams, but only if you’ve got teammates who know what they’re doing. Until you have a good read on your opponents and the maps, stick to DPS heroes with more stable damage output.
Squirrel Girl (Win Rate: 45.53%)
Squirrel Girl is a great pick when your rivals are donning 3 healers and they love fighting in a cluster. Except for that, her acorn grenades lack tracking, and they’re easy to dodge when enemies spread out. She only shines indoors or when opponents clump up. Outside those conditions.
The bigger problem here is that she feeds support heroes on the enemies’ side unless you land perfect combos.
Stick to Quickplay if you enjoy her quirky playstyle. If you are fresh into the mix, pick Punisher or someone whose damage scales in every scenario.
Jeff the Land Shark (Win Rate: 45.13%)
Jeff is the lowest-healing strategist at high ranks. His bubble placement has to be pixel-perfect or it’s wasted. And on top of that, his small HP bar makes him an easy pick.
He’s polarizing. Players either hate his disruptive ult or say even the least-picked support is still better than many duelists. But most agree he demands too much precision for too little return.
He’s fun and charming in casual games, but in ranked, his mechanical demands are just too high, and many don’t realize it. Try Rocket Raccoon or Cloak & Dagger for a more straightforward support role.
Black Widow (Win Rate: 44.10%)
The lowest win rate hero in Marvel Rivals, Black Widow's scoped rifle, requires perfect aim. Cooldowns are brutal, and even after buffs to her sprint and kick, she’s still one of the worst picks.
Everyone unanimously labels her the weakest hero, insisting she needs a full kit redesign. On console, her win rate is down near 37.5%.
Unless you’re a headshot god, skip her. She needs utility—maybe a stun or anti-heal shot—before she’s worth using in serious matches.
Tips to do better in Season 2
In a season defined by tank-heavy and dive-oriented team compositions, heroes with low survivability, telegraphed abilities, or situational kits find themselves at a serious disadvantage. For a higher win rate, prioritize picks like Emma Frost, Groot, Rocket Raccoon, and Mantis, all of which excel in the current meta and can better withstand or punish aggression.
