The 26th of August 2025 will mark a huge day for Helldivers 2, as the game will see a fresh batch of recruits to aid in the galactic war, with those who own an Xbox Series X or S will finally be able to play Arrowhead Game Studios' creation on their console, allowing them to aid Super Earth in its goal towards galactic freedom.
As great as that sounds, some do not see it that way. A portion of PlayStation players have made it known that they're not too keen on welcoming the upcoming Helldivers 2 Xbox community.
Are PlayStation Helldivers 2 Players Going To Troll Xbox Users?
Some PS5 users have shared plans to ruin the experience of newcomers by intentionally failing missions or continuously killing them to get them to stop playing, which is counterintuitive to the game's growth.
While such news might scare off some Xbox owners from getting Helldivers 2, it's not something that should dissuade them. Many, especially those playing the game on PC, have expressed their desire to welcome the rookies to their participation in the galactic war.
A good chunk of Helldiver 2's player base is friendly, amicable, and pleasant, which is great news for both newcomers and the game's longevity. Still, one might wonder why that is, especially in a game whose fun factor seems to be determined by the amount of chaos experienced.
It is because the game makes it clear that the best way to enjoy it is by accepting help and working together. Banding together and taking down threats like the Automatons, Terminids, and the Illuminate is what makes Helldivers 2 so enjoyable, with the chaotic moments being a bonus that comes with working with numerous unique personalities.
And since the addition of Xbox players means even more potentially insane yet enjoyable gameplay, it should come as no surprise that the majority of the game's player base will more than welcome the new faces.
However, that won't stop the possibility of encountering those who will try to ruin the experience. While it's likely to happen, given that some PlayStation players have made it known that they'll push through with it, the community has already made it clear they won't stand for it.
Some have already shared what upcoming Xbox players can do to avoid the potential problem, like immediately kicking offenders through the menu and blocking them. Others are even willing to take it upon themselves to aid the newcomers directly, joining their sessions and acting as protectors until no longer needed.
Again, this will not stop the problem from potentially happening, but at least those who plan to play the game on Xbox can rest easy knowing that there will be those who have their back. Unfortunate as it may be that some people are against the idea of additional players coming from another system, they're not the majority of the player base, which is a good thing.
True fans of Helldivers 2 would want anything that helps ensure the game has a long lifespan, and if that means more newcomers, they'll more than give a warm welcome. So if you're going to be playing on Xbox, expect only the best, as a sizable part of the community will help ensure you get the best experience.
