Has InZOI Already Lost Its Charm After the Successful Launch?

InZOI is a new life simulation game that had a successful release on Steam Early Access on March 28, 2025, but was its charm short-lived due to the criticism it received from its player base?

There is a large following for life simulation games, but many players remain loyal to The Sims franchise due to the fun it gives. The game has barely any competitors since its initial release in the 2000s. However, that has changed in recent times, where games like Paralives and InZOI are being developed and released.

The game seemed promising with its amazing graphics that are almost realistic, and its character creation and build mode features are actually incredible. In truth, many players wanted a new game besides The Sims that offered a fresh experience, which is what led to their excitement.

Prior to InZOI's release, their team posted on X about the game reaching the top spot on Steam's Wishlist chart just days before it launched into Early Access. This demonstrated the interest players had in the game, which persisted until its release and remained in the Steam Top charts alongside popular games.

However, InZOI slowly fell from the rankings, being topped by indie games such as Schedule I in just a week. Then it stopped ranking in the charts altogether. Speaking from experience, this may have been because the game felt somewhat empty. Since it is in Early Access, many features are still missing. For lack of better terms, there is simply nothing to do yet in the game.

In InZOI, you can create a beautiful home using the build mode, clean the house you've built, go to work, or explore the town and socialize with those around you. Other than that, you can't do anything else. It would be better to stick with The Sims, as The Sims 4's base game is free, and the older games are cheaper than in The Sims Online.

While the game is in Early Access, it is advisable to wait for future updates before deciding whether to purchase the game. If you already have it, it's best to set it aside for the time being and check in periodically for updates and patches. Many players were also disappointed, as there were talks about downloadable content early on, something that many disliked in The Sims franchise.

Hopefully, InZOI will regain its charm once the developers focus on releasing more gameplay content rather than prioritizing visuals and aesthetics. For now, the game's price is not justified by its current state.
